Friday Favorites #8

Can you believe that it's already Friday? Where do the weeks go? I swear, it was just Friday. With that being said, let's get started on my Friday Favorites!

 1. Visiting my Nanie. I adore visiting my Grandma. It truly is a highlight in my life. And I especially enjoyed our visit last Friday. She hasn't been doing well. Recently, my Grandma was placed on Hospice. And the last couple of times we've gone to visit, she has just been in bed. In fact, the time before, she just slept.

But this visit, my Nanie was more into our visit. Chatting away. Showing us, some new things. And making my Sister J laugh. It was a nice visit. Short, but nice. Kind of the new norm. And the time we spent with my Sister J was precious. We don't see her a lot. So every visit is fun!

 2. Belle. You have your Momma's heart! She truly lights up my life! And has been acting like a Momma Bear, to her sweet little Valentine's Day pup. She picks it up, cleans it, and lays it next to her to sleep. Wait for it. She even takes it to her food bowl, when it's time to eat! :)

 3. Salads. I just can't get enough of them. I don't know what it is. But I've been craving them all week! And wherever we go...I MUST have one! Gimme all the veggies! I can handle it. :) I may have even eaten 2 heads of Romaine...in a day!

 4. Masks. Of all kinds! A couple of months ago, one of my girlfriends sent me a pack of masks. I think there was 25 in the box. All different kinds. She knows how much I LOVE them. And every Sunday, I go dig one out. The sheet masks are my fav! Hands down. I've been using them since I was in high school.

But I'm starting to enjoy these clay masks. My skin has been rebelling lately. So they're helping. At least I feel like they are helping. :)

 5. Grocery Shopping. I LOVE to go grocery shopping. I don't know what it is. But it's one of my favorite things to do. Anyone that is local, and needs help...let me know. I especially enjoy shopping the sales!

 6. Breakfast. I'm not a HUGE fan of breakfast. Most of the time, I skipped it. Until the last couple of years. My Mom really enjoys breakfast. And more than any other time of the day, breakfast time just feels special. We sit and chat. And enjoy our meal. :)

 7. Homemade Spaghetti. I've been wanting homemade spaghetti for a while. Funny thing is, I always make a double batch. And freeze 3 portions of sauce. But we've been out. And I've been lazy. Doctoring up, the stuff in a jar. Because I didn't want to make sauce. It's not hard. I was just being lazy.

But darn, I made it this week. And it was so yummy! Look for the recipe on the Polka Dot Cocina next week. There's a ton of ingredients. But they're all basic pantry stuff. And it's super easy to make!

 8. Birthday Cards. I got my first one, Wednesday. Exactly a month, before my birthday. I'm not a big fan of birthdays. But I was excited to get this card. Time to hit Hallmark. Did I mention? It's from Hallmark, with an amazing coupon! I know it's just a promotional thing. But it was still fun to find in my mailbox.

Between, I was thinking of throwing myself a birthday party. But I'm busy with other things. This is sorta a biggish birthday. Maybe I'll just arrange a dinner or something. I kinda want to celebrate. Or maybe go out for Tea at the St. James. How about painting ceramics? So many things to choose from.

But it's also a difficult time of year. My Dad's anniversary of his passing, is the day before. Makes things a little emotional. So I guess I'll just wait and see...

 9. Linner with my Momma. I've had this giftcard for Outback...for almost 2 years. And my Mom and I finally went to go eat. We decided to try the Walk About Wednesday deal. It was delish!

$10 gets you a lot of food! A steak, french fries, and a drink. My Mom opted for a garden salad. And we ended up sharing our sides. We even left with some food.

Can we also stop and talk about the bread? Clearly my favorite part of the meal. I was definitely carb loaded on Wednesday. But it was delish! And I left stuffed. So we had to go walk around, afterwards.

10. Fabric Shopping. Yes! I said it. We went to Walmart for some dog food. And got lost in the fabric department. My Mom has been sewing a lot. And well, I just like to look.

We bought a few things. Mostly to work on birthday presents. And of course, there was yarn to buy. But the fabric. I could just look at it for hours! Walmart is really stepping up their game. So many cute prints.

11. Sweetheart. I'm not always sure when it comes to Sweetheart. Some days all she wants to do, is lay and cuddle. I've not been feeling very well. Since before Valentine's Day. And I've gotten used to Sweetheart waking up, and coming to cuddle with me. For hours!

Then there are other days, when she HATES me! Wants to fly, and bite my face off. I'm not going to lie, when I say...I'm scared of this little beast. She can turn, on the drop of a hat.

So after being so loving and kind...for a week. She hates me again. I sat on the couch, and she was ready to attack. But I still love her crazy little face. One day, I'm hoping she chills out a bit...

12. Comfort Food. I've been craving all this comfort food. But not really eating much of anything. Until last night. I made some pork chops, salad, and mac 'n cheese. The box kind. Because I was craving it. And you know what? It was so yummy!

That's about it. I've been working on projects. And events. Nothing blog worthy...as of yet. But who knows. Next week might be better. Until then, I want to crawl up. Under a blanket. And take a nap. I still feel exhausted! Happy Friday!

XOXO,
Desiree
